Nailers, also known nail guns, are used in a wide variety of applications when rapid & efficient fixing is required. Nailers cover the broad range from the light duty fixing of picture frames to heavy duty nailers such as those used when securing roof joists. Nailers can be powered by gas, battery or air to drive the nail into the material. Gas nailers also have a battery which provides the power for the ignition. Air nailers are powered by air from a compressor and do not require a battery for the ignition.

  • First fix nailers, also known as framing nailers, are primarily used for securing joists, roofing, cladding, flooring, stud work, fencing & decking.
  • Roofing nailers are used for fixing roofing joists as well as batons.
  • Second fix nailers, also known as a finishing nailer or brad nailers, are often used for fixing skirting, architraving, wood panelling, window & glass beading, dado rails, spindles & hand rails. They are popular with picture framers & cabinet makers among other woodworking trades.
  • Pin nailers are frequently used by picture framers & cabinet makers.
  • Staplers are often used when working with packaging or fabrics & for exhibition display work as well as by electricians for securing cables.
  • Narrow crown staplers are often used when working with packaging or fabrics & for exhibition display work as well as by electricians for securing cables.
  • Positive placement nailers have a specific purpose for construction of roofs & timber frames to fix connector plates, joist hangers, truss clips & strapping. They only fire a 35mm nail.
  • Coil nailers are used in construction work and can hold a greater number of fixings in the coil compared to strips in the cartridges of other nailers.
  • Framing coil nailers are used for securing joists, roofing, cladding, flooring, stud work, fencing & decking etc. It can hold a greater number of fixings in the coil compared to strips in the cartridges of other nailers.
