L class dust extractors, also known as low class dust extractors, can be used in the removal of light hazard dust and particles. They are suitable for dust particles with maximum allowable concentrations (MAC) > 1 mg/m3. This may include extracting dust and particles from materials such as gypsum (from plaster and plaster board), corian, and soft woods like pine and spruce. They should not be used to tackle medium or high hazard dust particles, or be used on work sites. L class dust extractors are commonly found in workshops.
