A drill driver is a simple cordless drill, which are very similar to a rotary drill (which instead runs on mains electricity). A cordless drill driver, is suitable for drilling holes in a range of materials, such as wood, metal and plastics. Typically, a drill driver is not suitable for drilling concrete. However, one additional benefit is that this type of drill can also be used to drive screws.
- The key consideration when choosing a drill driver is the maximum drilling diameter required. Drill drivers with 1/4' hex drives; the drill bit fits straight into the machine rather than tightened into a chuck.
